Paratrooper Helmet: This is specifically a paratrooper (para) helmet, a variant used by airborne forces like the 101st Airborne Division. These helmets were modified with additional chin straps and padding to ensure they stayed secure during jumps from aircraft.

Klondike Markings: The term "Klondike" refers to specific markings associated with certain regiments and battalions of the 101st Airborne Division. Klondike typically denotes the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR).

101st Airborne Division: Known as the "Screaming Eagles," this division was famous for its role in several significant WW2 operations, including D-Day (Operation Overlord) and Operation Market Garden. Helmets from this division are iconic and sought after for their historical value.

501st Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR), 1st Battalion: The 501st PIR was one of the regiments within the 101st Airborne. It participated in key WW2 missions, including the Normandy invasion and battles in the Netherlands. Helmets from the 1st Battalion with Klondike markings are especially rare, as they represent a specific unit within a prestigious division.

Key Details of an Authentic Helmet:

Chinstraps: Webbing is often reinforced or has an A-yoke chin strap typical of airborne helmets.
Liner Markings: Authentic helmets may have markings inside the liner for the 501st PIR.
Unit Insignia: The Klondike marking and other painted insignia may be present, often hand-painted.

This helmet has been carefully assembled using original parts and shells from the WW2 period.
