The radio carrying harness is designed for the Infantry signaller to carry his No38 Radio in the ready postion so he can operate it on the move in combat.

Made by Kay Canvas of Quallity 1937 webbing and solid brass buckles as found on there webbing.

The harness has been improved with a longer chest/waist strap than an original as they would have only fitted the avarage soldier of 1940 being about a 38" chest.

The Kay Canvas chest strap adjusts from 120cms long down to 60cms, when fully extended the strap will reach 150cms around 60" long 

The No38 radio would pull down when worn and so the Brass D ring on top of the Harness  would clip onto a brass hook for support, The brass clip was attached to 1937 webbing shoulder strap  and there are normally missing as they are so small or were left on the webbing set.
