USAAF Insert Navigation Case Type A4.
American World War Two Air Force navigators insert case for the USAAF A4 navigation brief case.
The USAAF Navigators in WW2 where issued a leather brief case to hold all the maps and equipment needed to navigate the bombers.
This is the insert which is often missing from original A4 Navigator cases.
This folder was officially called "Insert, Navigation, Case, Type A-4" and holds small items such as pencils, rulers, rubbers, compass, computers etc. It was carried inside the Navigators case.
This makes an ideal organiser.
Features:
- Inside there are 9 pockets of various sizes for pencils, rubbers etc.
- One insert pocket for paperwork or maps, which is stiffened and has a clear window to read the paperwork.
- On the inside of the back cover is a leather strip to hold a ruler.
- Leather tab with brass eyelet to help pull the folder out of the brief case.
- Stamped on the front "Inert-Navigation Case Type A-4 Kay Canvas".
