In July 1944, a L-5 Sentinel pilot from the 14th Liaison Squadron is carefully reviewing his flight plan on a chart. He is dressed in a tan poplin AN-S-31a flying suit, along with standard "rough out" leather service shoes. For safety, he wears a B-8 back type parachute and an enlisted man's service cap. His equipment includes an M-1936 pistol belt, a magazine pocket, an M-3 combat knife, and a shoulder holster to hold the regulation pistol. Additionally, he carries a pair of 6x30 magnification binoculars, which are securely stored in a case on his right side.
