In WW2 they where worn by all officers in the USAAF (United States Army Air Force) on the Class A dress uniform tunic and on shirts collars when not wearing a tunic.

After World War Two they where worn by the US Air Force.

Metal badges with gold colour wings and silver colour propellers.
