The US Army developed a standard helmet net called "Net, Helmet, with Band" late in World War II. This net was made from a woven camouflage material and included a foliage band attached to the back. It also came with an instruction card showing how to wear the net. These nets started being used by troops in the European Theater of Operations in late 1944 and became more widespread until the end of the war. While the "Net, Helmet, with Band" has a similar woven structure to the "Shrimp Net," they are two distinct nets from different sources.
