The Paratrooper steel helmet was originally referred to as the HSAT, this is the Mark 1 an improved version from the original HSAT  and was introduced in 1943 for general issue

    Olive green slightly roughened paint finish
    Steel rim
    Oval bump Pad in crown
    3 shock absorbing rubber Sorbo pads  
    White felt liner under sweat band
    Natural soft Leather sweat band  
    Stamped with original maker BMB (Briggs Motor Bodies)
    Liner stamped with date 1942 and size  
    Herringbone weave white cotton head cradle
    4 brass bolts for fixing and adjusting the liner
    Leather chinstrap with Rivets
    7 adjustable holes on chinstrap  
    Aluminium inner head band to connect shell

Please note  the oval bump pad will need fixing to shell as its loose
