The 1st battalion RUR was one of the original battalions that made up the 31st Independent brigade which transformed into the 1st airlanding brigade.

at the end of 1941 the RUR where transferred to the 6th airborne division, where they wore a selection of different titles until settling on these which are light blue on Dark blue
